Scott Dorell is a highly skilled director and actor, serving as the director on the feature presentation Where’s Angelo. A New York native, Scott apprenticed under the legendary Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. Seeking to broaden his skills, he moved to London, where he auditioned for and was accepted into the postgraduate program at LAMDA. During this time, he performed at the MacOwen Theatre in London, starring in distinguished productions such as The Merchant of Venice and The Duchess of Malfi.
As an actor, Scott’s credits include Gideon (starring Charlton Heston and Christopher Lambert), Luxury of Love (starring Luke Perry), ‘Where’s Angelo?’ (starring Robert Forster, Michael Madsen, and Beverly D’Angelo), and Land of the Lost (with Will Ferrell). His multifaceted background in performance gives him a deep understanding of storytelling and character development.
Transitioning behind the camera, Scott took a role as first assistant director under Merritt Avis, working on music videos for artists such as Audioslave, Michelle Branch, and Matchbox Twenty. He also first assistant directed many commercials and promos for major outlets including Comedy Central, contributing to productions like The Drew Carey’s Green Screen Show, The David Spade Show, and Mind of Mencia. He advanced to second unit director with Sarah Silverman’s feature film, Jesus is Magic.
Scott then established himself as a director in his own right, with television credits that include regional commercials for Adelphia, Comcast, as well as national campaigns such as the American Legacy Foundation’s anti-smoking initiative. His work as director of the short film ‘Where’s Angelo?’, featuring Robert Forster, Michael Madsen, and Beverly D’Angelo, premiered at the Hollywood, Santa Barbara, and Delray Beach Film Festivals, further cementing his reputation as a talented and visionary filmmaker.
With his broad experience across acting, directing, and production, Scott Dorell brings an invaluable skill set to EPE Partners. After surveying the landscape, Scott moved onto directing. Scott's multi-faceted talents came through in the short-film "Where's Angelo", starring Robert Forster, Michael Madsen and Beverly D' Angelo. It premiered at the Hollywood Film Festival and the Santa Barbara and Del Ray Beach Film Festivals.
